2 Bumps

Sick puppy! Need help!

We adopted a dog from the Humane Society on Thursday. She has not been eating or drinking much at all. She is WAY too skinny and VERY lethargic. She is 13.8 pounds and the vet says she needs to gain three pounds at least.

Now her nose is dry. Any suggestions. She has me really worried. She's a real sweetie, and I want to make sure that she comes out of this okay.

  • It really sounds like she needs to be seen by a Vet- i have no idea what is wrong but, something is going on with her- What kind of dog is she? i would call your vet first thing in the morning & explain everything you said here- Wishing you lots of luck!

  • Yes take her to the vet. Sometimes puppies, depending on how young, can not eat because they are scared. This can cause them to get low blood sugar which needs addressed. I rescued a 2 yr. old dog last October and he didn't eat very much for months due to the stress of all of it. He started in March eating better and has gained a little more weight. Good luck

  • We just saw the vet on Friday. Everything was fine in his eyes.

  • What are you trying to feed her? It could be she does not like the food. You might try some canned food to try and spark an interest.
