no tears??

My 2 week old cry's but there is no tears is this normal?

  • Yes. When I asked my son's pediatrician, he said that he was saving his tears for a future girlfriend. Babies don't usually get tears until around 17 days. It took my son a couple of months because his tear ducts were clogged. Ig you notice any eye goop, put a warm washcloth over his eyes numerous times a day. Wipe in the opposite diretion of his tear ducts. It will get worse before better. Hopefully they aren't clogged though. Best of luck! :)

  • it was normal for my baby she didnt get tears until she was about 4mnths old..i asked the dr she said it was normal

  • Yes, her tear ducts may not be fully developed or they may be clogged. Bring it up at your next pedi visit. good luck!
