  • It shouldn't need new spark plugs again, my husband has an 03 and we just put spark plugs in it for the first time a few months ago. Try googling what is wrong with the car, be sure to include the year, make and model.. you'll be surprised what you can find out!!!

  • Don't know a lot about them but do know that spark plugs don't need to be changed that often unless there is something else wrong. Also how does she know what is wrong with it? If you have a good mechanic I'd take it to them and have them run a dignastic on it. You might want to find out where she's buying her gas. Teenagers tend to go for the cheapest gas they can buy and sometimes it's a case of you get what you pay for and there's water & other gunk in it.

You might also want to try a bottle of gas treatment. It's a lot cheaper then plugs & points.

  • Is the car blowing blue smoke? Sounds like oil is fouling the spark plug. The blue smoke would indicate that their is oil mixing with the fuel.

The "cheap gas" answer is also a definite possibility since it could contain contaminates that stick to the plugs.

However, I'd have a mechanic look at it unless your granddaughter is ASE certified.

  • Try having another garage take a look at it. Some garages try to scam people out of money because most people lack knowledge about how a car runs, especially women.
