  • In the past, Nestle used child labor in Western Africa to procure cacao beans used in chocolate production.

  • I forgot to write why...LOL Nothing against formula, but, they purposefully try to promote their formulas in underdeveloped countries where they is not enough money or clean water. And they promote it as though it is the best stuff ever. Then, people are duped into trying to use it instead of breastfeed and babies die because the water isn't suitable for it and they don't have the means to make it properly. But, Nestle aggressively promotes it there anyway in an effort to make more money, when they make plenty in developed countries.

  • thanks for the link :) but don't all formula companies claim to have great formula? aren't they just trying to sell their product? it's really up to the mother weather she bf or not, obviously the other option would be formula.

  • Soooo it's not the formula killing the babies, it's the water. Formula itself doesn't kill babies. If we are sticking to the facts here, it's people not the product of baby formula. And if their drinking water is contaminated, wouldn't the breastmilk be too? I see so many moms on here saying formula kills babies. I always wondered where they got that idea from. Sounds more like greed and dirty water kills babies. Wouldn't be the first time greed killed anyone. History is proof.

  • Yes, all that is true, but, Nestle is the ONLY one that advertises and promotes in the poorest parts of the poorest countries...and it is killing kids there because the mom's aren't educated on the subject and believe them. Over here it's a whole different story. They can do whatever and parents can do either with no real issues. It's in underdeveloped countries where this is a major issue.

  • Nope, the breastmilk won't be contaminated. Not sure what the mom's drink. LOL But, it is proven in those places that babies who are breastfed live longer and are healthier.

    And yes, it's the water.

  • Well why would a mother be okay with feeding the water to their baby but not drink it themselves? That makes no sense.

  • Also, the WHO and UNICEF enforced a CODE to be followed and Several company's including Nestle refuse to follow it even though it is law.
