After effects of having child..

I had our son 6 weeks ago..it is still painful to have a bowl movement. Is this normal? I tore my rectal area somewhere during delivery. Don't know if I should mention it to my doctor or if it is still healing. It bleeds a little just about everytime.

  • Sounds like hemmeroids to me. Does it feel like there is a razor blade hiding in your poop? lol... cuz that would be a hemmeroid. They are very normal after birth. Make sure your stools are soft by eating a lot of roughage and fiber and drinking enough water. Try not to strain when you go and if you need, you can use over the counter hemmeroid cream.

    I'm sorry :( I know what it's like!

  • I would definitly mention this to your doctor. I never had this after child birth but I have ripped my rectum and this can be painful alone

  • Yes you should mention it to your doctor. It's possible that you could be having issues because of scar tissue if you tore, or it could be hemroids, either way the doctor should be able to help you. Good Luck!
