Anyone experience a toddler grinding their teeth in their sleep? Anything to do about it?

My 3yr old son grinds his teeth in his sleep. Its very disturbing, but I'm not sure if theres anything I can do to help him.

  • my daughter is almost 4 and she did this for awhile. it drove me crazy especially since she sleeps with us. It will stop on its own now she hardly ever does it.

  • My son did it from 6 months old until 6 years old. He stopped on his own.

  • Wont it hurt his teeth? I know their baby teeth and not permanent. Anyone ever ask their dentist about it?

  • One of our children also did this, but not for passed. Has your child seen a DDS yet? It would be a good idea to address this with your DDS. I know adults who grind are usually fitted with a nightguard but I am really not sure if a DDS would do this for a child.
