  • I agree,Older. The Preachers who preach the loudest about morals and values and quote the Bible are quite often the ones with the most to any church....any denomination.
It is hard to find a really honest and good "man of the cloth" nowdays. They are either preaching against gays or against illegal aliens or against Obama ( hiding their bigotry behind the "he could be a secret Muslim, not a Christian " excuse...) or against womens' rights....etc. Hypocrites.

  • HOLY CRAP you mean its NOT JUST Catholic Priests.....NO WAY!

I have been saying for YEARS as people have behaved like this is a problem held ONLY by the Catholic church and the jokes and the snide remarks have rained down that I am MORE worried for those with kids OUTSIDE the catholic faith. At least they know what they are fighting against and acknowledge the problem and MOST are doing everything in their power to fight it! Everyone else seems to behave like as long as they stay out of a Cathedral their kids are safe (religious and not).

  • thoughts...There are HUNDREDS of Pastors/Decons/Priests that are good, honest people but it is always that bad ones that make the news...Just like anything else that is bad. Just because they are a pastor does not make them less human. They are people not gods...

  • They are people, sure.... But they're people who preach about "family values" and "being Christ-like". People who think they are qualified to tell others how to live. And as for them being human, I'm sorry, but a normal human being does NOT force, coerce, or whatever other word you want to put on it, other people for sex. It's hypocritical, and disgusting.

  • Pastors are not the only ones who commit crimes...Teachers, Doctors, Police Men...ect...all do too... It will all make news...bad sales. Just because they are Pastors or any of the other titles I mentioned does not make them any less "normal" some people are just sick and use their position to do bad things. Either way it doesn't make it right...Just makes for a "good" news story...

  • eh..i don't really have any opinion, until evidence is seen. i hope its not true..there seems to be a lot going on with the people involved, and i don't think we know enough about what has transpired.

  • If it is proven to be true, it is an abuse of one's role in the community... Much like a pastor/rev preaching racism at the pulpit... But can you place blame the entire church/religion because of a few disturbing acts?

Answer by grlygrlz2 at 4:46 PM on Sep. 22, 2010

  • Nope not just found in the catholic church sick perverts can be found in many many our schools..

Answer by tnmomofive at 4:32 PM on Sep. 22, 2010

  • I don't think i've ever heard anyone say it ONLY happens in Catholic churches. That's just ridiculous. It happens everywhere, our world is full of wickedness and sin. And it's sad and heartbreaking no mattter where or how it happens. The offender needs to be put to justice.

Answer by Laura2U at 4:34 PM on Sep. 22, 2010

  • grly not placing blame on any religion, placing blame on those who ardently oppose homosexuality and turn around and practice the so called sin. Again and again, these scenarios seem to be coming out, only proving my theory that the most homophobes relate!
