  • there is a possibility that infants who consume formula containing the beetles or their larvae, could experience symptoms of gastrointestinal discomfort and refusal to eat as a result of small insect parts irritating the GI tract.
    That is DISGUSTING...

  • Stuff like this and the other formula recall and what they know about Soy formula now is why I am pissed that I didn't BF longer and why I am so passionate about everyone at least trying. This stuff is sad and nasty.

  • dear god, foods and medicines are recalled all the time and something like this happening is not a reason for nursing moms to think they are that much better...did the egg recall make you think "oh if only i was a vegan" even though your baby wasn't even effected, probably not...something like this does not mean all formula is junk. this may be disgusting but it's one company....not all of them

  • The United States Food and Drug Adminstration (FDA) has determined that while the formula containing these beetles poses no immediate health risk

Let's post the rest of the sentence now. Yes it's very gross and creepy. I agree. But anything that's made in a factory is at risk for that. Food you and your kids eat every day could have come into contact. Regular white flour has larvae in it. If your flour sits too long they hatch and you get little weebles. It doesn't mean formula is bad and dangerous. Toyota had a recall and everyone still buys Toyotas not worrying it will kill them. Breastmilk can become contaminated too. Goes to show, nothing is perfect. You could use this post as ammo to put down bottle feeders(not saying anyone is) or just proof that nothing is bomb proof. But I'm not going to live in fear.
