Bump if you agree, Posting in pregnancy, Dose anyone agree,

With what the news media is saying about that we are out of this recession?
and If so do you feel it yet.
I am still unemployed,
Still living with less,
and still living with no form of healthcare or insurance.
The rich are richer than ever and the poor are poorer than ever,
So in my Popular oppinion I think the recession is still alive and well.
What is your take?

  • What is happening is companies are purchasing new inventory and machinery, but they aren't hiring yet. So in some ways it is improving but not quickly enough for the average person.

  • No, I don't agree.... I know a lot of people still have a hard time, and I know unemployment is still bad. However, I'm pretty well versed in Economics (studied it at a University in Europe), and I know employment is the last thing to improve when coming out of a recession. I think all the signs are there that things are getting better though.... It's just going to take time. I mean, we didn't get to this point overnight, so why do people seem to think it can just be turned around overnight?

  • Why in pregnancy?

Umm...anyway, my DH is still out of work a year later (he's had a couple of temp jobs) with no hope in sight. Do I think we're out of the recession? Personally speaking, no.

  • Some "rich" may be getting richer, but most "rich" lost a lot of their net worth in the recession.

  • I don't think the recession will fix itself until after it hits depression status. JMO.

  • Well, if we're coming out of it, I don't feel it yet. After 13 years, we are losing our home. We have only one child who's 3 because we are just too broke to have another one. My husband (thankfully) hasn't lost his job, but had to take a more than 26% pay cut to keep it. We weren't living beyond our means, we were however living paycheck to paycheck when this happened.

But alas, I live in Michigan, and I think we're going to be one of the last states to emerge from the recession. Good luck to you, honey. I hope your circumstances and situation start looking up before the baby gets here.
