  • it is included in the DTap vaccine...they get these if you follow the standard vaccination schedule at 2mo,4mo, 6mo, 18 mos, and 4 yrs with a booster around 12 called the Tdap. It include diptheria, tetanus, and pertussis (whooping cough)
I am a vaccinating momma and do not delay but this is the one shot that I will not allow my children to get with any other vaccinations.

  • Its more than tetanus. Its called dtap. d=diptheria, t=tetanus a=and p=pertussis. All can be deadly if caught. Baby got it at 2 months and will get it at 6 and 12-18 months as well. Its on the cdc recommended schedule.

  • I thought you only got a tetanus shot if you were possibly exposed to it.

  • I let my kids get it but i make sure that it is the only vaccine that they get that day because they usually get a fever and dont feel well with this one, i dont want to add to that by giving them several vaccines on top of this one.

  • Why don't u allow it? My DD got it today and I haven't been able to stop thinking about it and why.

  • Don'you have to show that your children have vaccines to start school hotmommy420? Also, don't you worry about the risk of disease for not vaccinating your children?
