  • Treat the post nasal drip with an antihistamine to reduce irritation... something like Claritin or Zyrtec. Then you can treat the cough with Honey, Hot tea and honey, add Lemon if there is a lot of mucus. Lemon juice cuts thru mucus really well. Also, drink tons of water.... it's a natural expectorant.

  • We use throat spray or cough drops. Cough medicine like musines or robatussion. If it's real bad we will go to the Doc. and get something stronger.

  • Haven't been able to try this yet, but I was just reading yesterday in Prevention magazine to make ginger tea (grate some ginger root into a cup, fill with boiling water, steep 5 minutes, strain, drink) - something in the ginger takes away the urge to cough.

Put Vicks on the soles of your feet, and socks over top. It works!

I can't remember the exact measurements, but there are 2 different variations & mixtures using apple cider vinegar, butter, sugar...they work somewhat.

DH mixes a shot of whiskey and a half-shot of honey, warms it a bit, and swallows that - he swears by it.
