Does your child 8 or over sit in a booster seat?

The law in a lot of places is that the child must be 4'9" or 8 years old. My son is 7 1/2 and is in a high back booster seat and will continue to be in it until the seatbelt fits him correctly. I forsee him sitting in at least a low back booster for a few more years since he has a small build, even though he will be 8 he will not fit correctly in the seat belt.

  • Yes she does our state law requires them to be 4'9" I think the seat belt in the back seat would hit her wrong. Isn't it funny I have 2 older kids ages 33& 30 and no way would they have ever been in a car seat at this age.

  • No, my son is 10 and he doesn't. Of course, my son is about 5'1" and 83 lbs.

  • My daughter is 19 and technically does not hit the heighth restrictions... for our state to be in a car without a booster seat... Needless to say she doesn't use one... and husband had to have you card modified to fit her better... she gets the short genes from his side of the family! LOL

  • When they all aren't in our truck they do sit in boosters.  My 10yo hates it but she's the size of the average 7yo (she's 4' tall and 47lbs).  My almost 9yo son uses a booster if he sits in back when the girls aren't in the truck (otherwise he sits in the middle up front--he's 4'6" and 70lbs).  And my almost 8yo also sits in a booster if her sister isn't in the car (she's 4' and 54lbs).

  • No. He is tall and almost nine. My 4.5 yr projected adult height is 4'9" so, that could get interesting.
