How do you know if your baby is allergic to cats??

I have one cat- and one baby (7 months)who seems to rub her nose alot (kind of like when she's tired and ready for a nap or bed) Should I ask the doc to check her.. (somehow) at her next check up, or is it too soon to tell?? She LOVES the cat BTW..

  • Yes, you should get her tested. If she really is allergic then you need to give the cat away.

Maybe you have some friends or family who would love to take care of your cat.. if you really need to give it away.

  • It sounds as if she couldbe but you will not need to get rid of the cat.
The only time you would need to do that if it is affecting her breathing. If she is and it isnt causing any breathing issues just try to keep cat away from her and brush your cat and try to not have the hair around when she is sheading. My daughter was allergic to dogs( backwards she was she was allergic to things that normally people arent ) but we kept the dog and just like when people get the allergy shot whcih gives them stuff they are allergic to in small doses to allow the body to get use to it. She out grew it since still having them around. Just ask the dr and see what they say.
