does anyone have a son new to boy scouts this year?

if so, do you find the "how to protect your child" ; the 8th paw toward the bobcat badge, a bit strange...maybe too explicit?

  • i have to agree with you. these are 6-7yo earning the bobcat badge. they only need to know the basics, imo.

  • I"m a den leader and the child protection is for you to read, you don't have to go over that one with the kid. For new Tigers there is however a section that seems a little out there but one never knows. It has questions you have to go over like what to do if an adult says or does or wants you to do xyz

  • wow, steveiguana! that is so sad, isn't it? we thought scouts would be really great! I loved my scouting experiences as a kid.
