Did you know about the LATCH system?

I didn't realize until today that my LATCH couldn't be used if my child was over 50 pounds (per my car seat manual) and the top LATCH couldn't be used over 40 (per my car manual)! Even though the seat is rated up to 100 lbs. I have to use the seatbelt since it's rated for adult weight and the LATCH is only rated for small child weight.
Check your manuals ladies!

  • yep :)
for the ladies that are saying they use you mean you read both manuals or you use both latch and seatbelt? Latch and seatbelt can not be used together...only one or the other :)

  • even if your car seat manual says your latch can be used to 50 lbs, most cars have a top weight of 40 lbs for lower latch, go by what your car manual says, not the car seat itself

  • I didn't know that! I'll definitely check my car manual once my baby gets bigger, though.
