Why do people quote what others say?

Ok...I have noticed in numerous groups that a lot of moms will go and qoute from a previous mom in reply to a post. I can understand if you were gonna make a comment to that quote. But why can't you put your own reply to a post instead of quoting from anoter mom and using that as your reply.

IE Post: Got my hair colored!
Reply: I love it!
Reply: (Another quotes it and leaves it at that)

Do we really get so lazy that we can't just type in our own words instead of quoting anothers? I was just curious about this.

  • sometimes they put this before or after the quote, meaning they agree with what that person said

  • because it is what you were going to say, so why type it all over again.

  • i noticed that a lot of people do that. I think it's kinda funny. I prefer to say what I wanna say rqther than quote everyone else.
