  • oh, never mind. i found it. as usual, the news made it seem like it was something permanent in their 'commercials'

  • idk, haven't heard that. thought she was on a mission to make american kids fit lol. i guess she is all over the place like her husband and can't stay on topic or finish up one topic before doing a half-ass job at solving the next one.

  • it's all good. that's our family day, we're going to the neptune festival. i do feel bad for the kids not allowed to go outside though...

  • wow... Um, I don't like that. Surely parents can decide when their kids should be watching tv? So if a mom needs a moment during those three hours, screw her?

Yeah, she's lost touch with reality. Give a lady a staff, and suddenly she forgets what it's like to want to pee in private.

BTW, we don't keep cable. I will put something on netflix while I cook and fix my face.

  • Oh sweet crazy for Nick to DO this. The kids whose parents CARE about nick shutting off a;ready take their kids from in front of the TV. The parents that DONT will turn the channel or put on a DVD and plop their kids right down anyway! And hasnt Nick done this for a few years?? As in BEFORE Michelle Obama.

  • Geesh. Nick has always promoted play, active play! This is nothing new. I do not need some self-important person in DC to tell me or my kids what to do, when to do it, or how /what to eat! I wish that woman would just worry about her OWN kids, and let ME raise MINE!

  • We go dark as a family a few times a year. TV's off, lights off, no internet or cell phones. We usually read poetry or short stories out loud to each other or play a board game by lantern light.
Michelle sounds pretty hip to encourange something such as "playing".

    What a concept.

  • I agree with Parish. We do what your family does.
