  • I guess since Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners are usually pretty big (as in lots of rich food), maybe something simple like a veggie or fuit and cheese platter would be good. Dips are always a hit, too. I have a great recipe for Buffalo Chicken Dip, message me if you'd like me to send it to you.

  • We buy thr premade veggie trays at Costco, and then I take an 8oz brick of cream cheese and lay it in the center of a very pretty glass plate and let it warm to room temp. I pour Raspberry Chipotle sauce over top guesstimate..maybe 3/4 of a cip or less. Serve with facy crackers

  • Here's what we make:
Pate (if you want the recipe, let me know)
    assorted olives and baby pickles
assorted veggies (my daughter makes homemade ranch to go with them)
    assorted cheeses & nuts
    assorted crackers.

These are set out around noon, and people munch til about 3, when everything gets put away. Dinner is usually around 5:30-6:00. This gives people a little break to work up an appetite for dinner!

  • My family ALWAYS has shrimp cocktail and raw oysters (with the usual condiments: horsradish, tabasco, etc) a few hours before Christmas dinner. However, this year we are changing our menu.

  • You could try a variety of deviled eggs ( I did this one year) or warm bread with spreads. Or even just a veggie tray. Really depends on what your family likes.

  • For Thanksgiving, we always do homemade Chex mix as well as spinach dip in a bread bowl. For Christmas, we always do a super yummy artichoke dip for Christmas Eve. On Christmas day, we usually do a breakfast quiche as a brunch. Dinner is ham with all of the fixings. YUMMY!!!!!!!!!! :)
