Can't you just be supportive??

I just think it's so disheartening when a woman reaches out for just a little bit of support when having a hard time that others have to knock her down even more. I know we all have opinions but sometimes if it's not very nice maybe, just maybe you could keep it to yourself.......

  • I agree. There is a way to be honest and tactful and some women haven't found that balance

  • Women are asking questions. There are other places to go if women are reaching out for support.

  • I answer honestly..but if I feel strongly about it, I will give my strong opinion....whether it be nice or mean. If you don't want the truth, don't ask the question

  • Since I don't know what you're referring to, I'm curious - would you consider encouraging a person to keep doing something harmful "supportive"? What about supporting something unhealthy? Or supporting behaviors that are counterproductive? Or supporting decisions that are unhelpful? Or supporting choices that are ill-advised?

Personally, I get sick of seeing women say "oh yeah, girl, you just keep doing what you're doing, I support you" when what the woman is choosing to do will NOT solve her problems.

  • I Agree-Gailll, of course there are many other places to go for Support- but, you can still answer a question without being rude or disrespectful..............

  • Support when appropriate, yes. But when it's not appropriate? no way.

  • This is a questions and answers forum. When people ask questions, they are asking for answers. Sometimes, they get answers that they disagree with. Such is life.
