STARVE THE BEAST-FISCAL CALAMITY IS THE GOP'S PLAN TO SHRINK GOVERNMENT

At this point, then, Republicans insist that the deficit must be eliminated but they're not willing either to raise taxes or to support cuts in any major government programs. And they're not willing to participate in serious bipartisan discussions, either, because that might force them to explain their plan -- and there isn't any plan, except to regain power.

  • Yup, makes total sense, right? Why people can't seem to realize that their "plan" (whatever that may be, since they are not offering ANY solutions, just sound bytes) is just a bunch of hot air is beyond me...

  • A little hypocritial on part of the Dems/Libs don't you think. I seem to recall not just closed door meetings..but those doors having the locks changed to keep the Republicans out of the hc discussions. What about Pelosi refusing to let Republicans to submit bills? Oh, that's right "you" approved of those measures.

  • That's why they vote

    ------

Yuppers. And they should be voting according to their constituents. And imo they did. Voting against Obama policies. I have absolutely no problem with all Pubs voting against Obama's issues, they SHOULD have been.

  • I'm still waiting on how you think they are going to cut spending, cut taxes and cut the deficit. Not person knows how they are going to do it, because its impossible. all talking points nothing meaningful in their pledge.

~I would hop the first way would be by NOT allowing Politicians to pass massive Spending bills without reading them... Even if they are in the name of "Recovery", "Emergency", and "Health Care"...

  • Oh give me a break, There isn't a Conservative out there who didn't expect the Libs to come out against this. Nowhere in this plan does it say we will never raise taxes or make changes to any government programs. Those are YOUR words. Their plan will go far to lower the deficit and businesses will begin to hire under this republican plan. America will be better off and the Libs know it and they hate it. It kills them to think their socialist agenda for America will be stifled. There plan will be set back by years.
