My 5 year old still drinks a bottle at night...

just water though. I'm thinking I should start thinking about taking it way once she turns 6. I am letting her have a sleep over so surly she won't want her friends to see her bottle right?

  • If her teeth are not being affected, I don't see what the problem is. You sound like a wonderful mom who allows your daughter to grow up at her own pace. Everyone's making a big deal about it, but it's only ONE BOTTLE OF WATER at night.

  • Well, we switched it to water when she was 3. It doesn't really hurt anything if it's water. most of the time she doesn't even finish it. I just think she is getting TOO old now. I figure a spend the night party will cause her to break the habit on her own

  • I agree i'm shocked i never seen a child that old on a bottle. I think its to much when they are two and three. I took my baby bottle away at one.

  • It's not THAT serious! If it's okay with her it's okay with me. Like I said it is hurting nothing.

  • Seriously weird. Why isn't she drinking from a glass? And you're wrong, its not the water that's damaging its the nipple and her teeth.
