  • after age one, usually. but some three yr olds do better, after awakening at 6am per parent's schedule, to do a short nap at 1030-1100 and a longer one at 230-300 until say 430.

  • It really varies child by child. My 19 month old takes one 2.5 - 3 hr nap during the week but still takes 2 naps on some weekend days depending on his need for sleep.

  • It does depend on the child. My 3 year old son never naps and never has.

  • My son is 19 mos. We tried cutting him to just one 3 hour nap in the afternoon, but he absolutely has to have his shorter AM one too. They say that they grow when they sleep (the growth hormone is released then) and he definitely sleeps more when he's going through a growth spurt. It just depends on what makes your baby seem healthier. :)

  • My son switched to 1 nap a day at around 11 months... his one nap is usually about 2-3 hours long. He is 21 months now, and that's still true for him.
