Does your 5 year old pick out their own clothes and dress themselves?

  • Yes, but to add a little help on school days. I have a 5 compartment sweater hanger in his closet. In it I place 5 complete outfits for him to choose from. On non-school days I let him pick out what he wants (sometimes I just have to shake my head). Even though I wonder sometimes, I have tougher battles to fight.

  • Yes, but her outfits are...well, um...interesting. She has a very unique style. On school days I help her choose something that somewhat matches and doesn't clash but I don't limit her too much. When she starts kindergarten she will be in a uniform so I don't have to worry.
She insists bright pink and red go together just fine and stripes of any color and size are perfect together. We call it "Brennastyle".

  • Can he pick them out and dress himself? Yes. Does he always match? Duh. He's a boy, not a girl. I agree. There are bigger battles to win. If it's a battle I really want to win, I ask him, "Are you sure this is the hill you want to die on today?"

  • Yes, my older son did and still does that. He would say mommy i didn't pick this one out. He loves clothes like his daddy and grandma. Ilove clothes too but more into my purses though.
