  • We read daily with dd... But she has the Tag .. and loves it! They have a book set JUST to introduce reading (actually 2 book sets)... The Vtech reader seems really cool! Im actually wondering if we should get it for DD ..
Go to the store & see if u can play with both of them... Every kid is different so you never know..
With Tag You have 1 tag reader, alot of books- each book has to be put on the tag via internet...
I THINK the Reader is like a game system -- You have 1 Reader & will collect cartridges (instead of books)

Tag is good because even if the Tag is out of batteries your child still has the book... And You can listen to stories on the tag without having the book..

    Lots of pluses/minuses! lol

  • I was always told spending time with your child reading is the best, because they get both your attention, modeling that reading is important, etc....basically, the child needs to see you reading and associate it with something pleasant. There are resources on the net about how to support children to reading.

Personally, I would look at the games for the two systems and see if there are characters that he/she likes in the games -- that can sometimes help, but even with the games you are likely going to need to spend time playing and practicing with the child. Young children love time with Mommy (or Daddy)!
