How do you get rid of chipmunks?

We used to have a cat, but now that we don't, I just looked over at my birdfeeder and see birds eating on one side and a chipmunk stuffing it's face on the other.

  • WAIT chipmunks are cute!!! they are small and dont ruin your house OR birdfeeder! also they dont eat much and will probably go store it and not come back every day. it's SQUIRRELS who are troublemakers and will SPILL your whoel feeder on purpose!! they are big and fat and sloppy and will EMPTY your feeder. give munks a chance... actually they are so pretty. mark my words, see how the bird doesnt mind that it;s there? if a squirrel were there, NO birds would be there at the same time, squirrels are rough lol. if you really dont want the chippymunk, just make soem noise or hang a dangly thing beneath your feeder and he or shee will stay away. (lived upstate and in country and love feeders and nature)

  • Just buy a bird feeder that had chipmunk guard on it. They sell those. Chipmunks were there before your house was, so you invaded their home. They are probably wondering how to get rid of you right now.

  • Chipmunks are awesome, they really are. The only damage they seem to really do is tunnel next to the foundation which can make leaks if you have a basement. But you can sprinkle a little cayenne pepper around the foundation and they won't want to tunnel there (also it's good for rats and snakes)
