At what age should baby go for a vision test?

Both my hubby and myself (as well as most members of our families) wear glasses. I have had to wear mine since early childhood. i am going to be booking LO's first pediatric dental exam soon and it made me think of the optometrist as well....

  • Our Peds does them at the 3 year checkup unless the child is showing issues with vision. I would think if your peds does them and doesn't think there is an issue, there would be no reason to take them to an actual eye doctor until they are starting school.

  • Our ped also did them at the 3 year well visit; but as always, if you have a concern, ask your ped.

  • Check with your doctor or your local health department......it's a lil difficult to do babies/young children......I believe my child was around 2 maybe 3 when we had a screening.
