  • I would keep their sleep schedule the same until they were around 11 or so. But 9, maybe just an hour later. That schedule is needed for their body I think.

  • We don't really have bedtimes. It depends on how they are acting and what we have to do tomorrow... Most the time when they are tired they go to bed.

  • Since it two nights out of the week Friday and Saturday and the rest are school nights Sunday through Thursday, I think 10:00 would not interrupt with their other nights of going to bed earlier. During the summer time when there is no school another issue.

  • Oops - my 10 year old's bedtime is 9 (all week). My teen is usually in bed by 11 on school nites unless he has to work. Weekends, he stays up until 1.

  • At age 9? We had an 8pm bedtime 7 days a week.

It wasn't until middle school changed from 8 to 9 on school nights and 10 on weekends (Fri and Sat), and in high school it changed to 10 on school nights and 11 on weekends.

When my son turned 16 (beginning of junior year), it changed to midnight at his discretion, as he is taking many advanced placement courses with tons of extra work and also works part time.

  • I let my boys stay up as late as they want on weekends until they fall asleep. There is only set bedtime during the week (Sun - Thur), typically my son was always out by 11 on weekends at 9. He's 12 now and he always falls asleep by 11:00 or 11:30. Unless he has football the next day - I don't push bed time.
