1 Bump

My son have diarreah, what kind of food beside pedialyte can I give him? I try soup, he's not buying it. He is 18 months old.

  • Most doctors now say let them eat whatever they want as long as its not greasy/spicy. Avoiding dairy for a day or two is generally a good idea. But short of that.. if he's hungry, let him eat what he wants. Just make sure he's drinking well. I give my kiddos gaterade because pedialyte tastes horrible. :P

  • Remind me what BRAT is... I know bananas and rice... I was going to add crackers or toast. Is a for apples? Which seems strange to me, but what do I know! :)

  • I would give my son pedilyte popcycles, orange slices, the canned ones, because there much juicier, I would put chicken broth in a bottle or give him grilled cheese and let him dip it in tomato soup- don;t mind the messes, because it makes him eat. other than that, the brat diet, let him eat whatever he wants- minus spicey or greesy food!

  • Anything with fiber will help him. Fiber is what gives waste its solid form. A small amount loosens stool, a bigger portion solidifies.

  • Def the BRAT diet but marshmallows and pumpkins are great for clearing up diarhea but I dont know if you give your son marshmallows but I know pumpkin works wonders
