  • One that suits your activity level that will be comfortable in the space you have available and, if you have or are around kids, is known to be good with children.

  • No one can tell you the BEST dog for you to buy. You research breeds based on your lifestyle, how often you are home, maintainence, grooming, size, temperment, willingness to train, etc. Do you want short haired, long haired, hyper, mellow??

Example: I picked Daisy, my beagle, because she has short hair so I don't pay $$ for a groomer, she is safe with kids, high energy to play with kids, smaller but not too small, and she is okay if we are gone for the day. She can be indoors and outdoors, and she doesn' have a ton of veteranary needs.

  • None, there are so many out there at shelters, rescue groups, etc..... Just google the type of dog you're looking for and put rescue by it and the state you're in,(example: German Shepherd Rescue Missouri) and you will find there are a lot of dogs out there that need good homes. Please don't buy a dog...

  • We did not buy ours two dogs, they were given to us from my Hubby's friend who's friends did not want them anymore.
I would go to the petco when they have the dogs for adoption.

  • whether you call it adoption or buying, it's the same thing. They both have to pay for food, shelter, and dog food, and vet bills until someone pays for the dog. Animal shelters can charge almost as much as $400 out here! The smaller the dog, the more $$.

  • The best type of dog to get whether it is from a breeder or rescue is the one that fits your family and lifestyle the best. Do your research don't just go off of what others suggest for the best breed.

  • We have a Boxer and she is amazing and wonderful. We got her from the pound. They have the best personality and they are very protective over their family. They are great with kids and very good hearted.
