  • Making informed choices based on what is best for her child, her family and herself rather than trying to stick with what others think or what some expert says she should be doing... Parenting comes down to having and using TWO things - Love and common sense!

  • Well, I dont know exactly what is the definition of a good mom, I guess I will leave that for my kids to decided someday. Hopefully I have done a good job. My dd is 18 and ds 16. I have been a single parent for 7 yrs and have tried my very best to put my kids first. Not bringing men home, not going out and partying till the wee hours. I feel I have been solid and grounded and I hope and pray that has made a huge impact on my kids lives. Seems like it so far anyway...:)

  • Love. Knowing the right thing to do. Putting you children first. Wisdom.

  • For starters, not eating your young. Wait. I'm thinking of wolf spiders and rats.

Well, eating one's young would not get anyone "Mother of the Year", so I'll stand by my first answer.

Beyond that, providing shelter, nutrition, love and discipline, education and consistency probably go far in making one a good mother.
