  • I went on IS in high school and graduated a year early. I was just a driven kid who had a lot of friends and enjoyed high school, but I just really wanted to get out of my small town asap.

  • No I rather she graduate with her hs class. She can graduate college in 3yrs so I wouldn't rush it in hs. Once its over its over.

  • My son is taking all advance placement courses, which means that he's completing his first year of college while taking his high school classes. All of the courses are 50% independent study. He'll graduate high school with his class, he's a senior this year, but he will enter college as a sophomore.

As for motivating? Students who can't/don't self-motivate don't belong in independent study programs.
