burnt pizza in microwave...continue??

so someone made a good point. how in the heck do i get the burnt smell outta my microwave? i made the drunk roommate clean it but it still stinks, and is stained brown. will anything i cook in there take on that burnt smell? and he cleaned it with some stuff called Kaboom from the dollar store. is it really safe to cook stuff in there after that?

  • Use a baking soda paste instead. It will kill the odor and remove the stains.

  • Put some ground coffee into a small bowl and leave it in the microwave overnight. Also, you could try cleaning it with vinegar.

  • I have used cut lemons in bowl of water heat to boiling, leve in mincrowave at least thirty minutes to remove the smell of burnt popcorn..dunno if it will work for pizza

  • First try lemon juice and water (fresh lemon, sliced, peels and all). Heat water to boiling, and continue until about half the water is gone.
    If that doesn't work, try making a cleaner from lemon juice and baking soda and scrubbing the interior with that. Let it sit for an hour and then rinse/wash off with cool clean water.
    If THAT doesn't work, try activated charcoal for 24 hours. Kitty litter is the easiest way to acquire this, just check the label and be sure that it has it. Put a dish of it in the microwave and close the door and don't open for 24 hours.

    If THAT doesn't work, it's time to buy a new microwave...and make sure roomie pays for it!
