Come winter time, what will you keep your heat at?

This is the first time I will ever have a temperature gauge for my heat. My other places was crap and I had to turn on and off the heat myself. There was no gauge to tell me what the temp was. So I have no idea what a normal temperature is. It gets around 10-40 degrees here so it's all over the place.

  • Anywhere from 65-70. I don't like to be cold, but if its too warm the heater makes my asthma act up bad.

  • I keep our no higher than 70, but it is still freezing in our house at that temp, but our house is pretty big.

  • I always place my heat on 70, and it's pretty comfortable in my home. We make the kids wear socks, and thermal pajamas around the house too, and we add extra blankets on the beds. Now when it start to get crazy cold outside, like 20 below, then we'll place the heat on 75. We use natural gas heat, and those of you who use gas heat know how expensive it can be. I'm going to purchase some portable heaters this year too, maybe that will help on our heating costs.

  • I keep it around 68. I have to cover the windows in plastic this year, we live in a big old house and windows are ancient. It's a Victorian house so the windows are like 5-6 feet tall in the livingroom. I hate to cover them, but it will help some. It gets below 0 where I live. I have the heat on today, set at 67.
