When my son was born last year the midwives said my placenta was friable. I am wondering if this is something I need to be concerned with this pregnancy? Does anyone have any experience with this? Thanks for your time. Valerie

Friable means that it basically just fell apart in their hands.

  • I think I might be a little concerned. I have never gone through it myself. I would just read up on it and see what it says.jmo good luck and get lots of rest.

  • there is always concerns that something unusual can hapen again - i would talk to your doctor and ask him/her about the risks this poses to you and your unborn baby - problems with the placenta can cause fetal death - i would talk to my doctor!
