  • I know that there are programs that will help low income families to replace
    major items such as a furnace and hot water tanks... I am not sure exactly
    where to go, but you can try contacting...
    Your local social service office and see if they know..
    Try your electric co.
    Try your heating/gas co....
    Also if your state has a website, they tend to have help line/links for
    programs and help...

  • You can also look on craigslist. Lots of things are being sold from forclosed homes. You may be able to find a gently used one for real cheap.

  • You mean a new furnace? I would look into a company that will allow payments and if it's energy efficient you'll at least qualify for a rebate. If you can't afford that perhaps you can get one of those free standing electric fireplaces to help in the main room of the house
