Learning to write?

At what age did you go from letting them draw randomly to pushing writing letters?
How did you go about that with a very impatient child?

  • My DD is beginning to write now. She's been writing her name, not perfectly, but she gets all the letters and spells it correctly. In pre school they are having the children do one worksheet a day where they TRACE beginning letter shapes. They will soon get into tracing whole letters. I will have my DD trace letters at home too.

  • I haven't pushed it yet, but my daughter (she's two) is already trying to write letters on her own, I think its because she's really into the show Word World lol
