Tricks for addition and subtraction?

What games or tools did you use to help teach this?

  • My two year old can subtract from 10, we just use things she's paying attention to atm. (ex: she is coloring, we use her crayons) :)
    She LOVES gummies too, so we use those too.

  • board games. monopoly or anything that uses money. Anything where you throw two dice have her add them up. get multi colored candies and have her divide them up by color and then count them up. Ask how many more red than green for subtraction. Some card game might be helpful. War at least puts the focus on which number is bigger. You could always add your own rules.
