What do u do when ur child wont take a na ot preschool or at home when u have tried all u can? Plz help!!

My son does good all day in preschool till the time comes for him to take a na. He screams and crys for an hour or more at a time. So i don't know why this is?

  • Perhaps he is just getting too old for nap time? I would just make sure he is getting adequate sleep at night, and tell him that he doesn't have to take a nap but he does need to play quietly in his room for an hour.

  • My son stopped napping at 2 also = tell him he doesn't have to sleep but he needs to lay down and relax and read or something

  • hes old enuff to not take naps anymore...my daughter stopped at 18 months

  • He needs to be taught that his behavior is not okay and if he doesnt want to sleep thats OKAY but he must be quiet and lay there while everyone else sleeps.

  • Sounds like he doesn't need that nap. See if they can just give him a book or a quiet activity to do at nap time - change it into "quiet time".

  • It sounds like naps are DONE for your son. Don't force it. Some just don't need naps anymore.
