  • Have you looked into reflux issues?

  • Almost all children are sleeping through the night by age 3.

  • Have you tried baby wearing? I know it sounds silly but if you keep your baby close to you they cry less. My son is 10 weeks old and he is so much calmer if I have him in a sling. I have a Baby Ktan that I love... there are several different kinds of carriers you can get.

  • My children are 3 & 4 and they have yet to sleep through the night. My sister was 17 before she was able to sleep through the night - although at that point it wasn't like she was waking our mom... Some children simply are easier to wake than others. It's hard in the beginning, but you will all learn to cope in time.

  • I would also get a sling. Or you could try swaddling.

  • You are right, every baby is different. I wouldn't expect a 7 week old to sleep through the night anytime soon. Tell me about his diet, his "eating habits", where he sleeps, some general information about your lives and what you do, believe it or not, this can be useful in figuring out if something is wrong, (colic, reflux, or just a generally fussy kid)

  • My guy is 8 weeks tomrorow and he is not even close to sleeping through the night. The longest I've ever gotten out of him in a single night was 5 hours. It's usually around 3 hours though give or take. I would be happy with two 4 hour stretches by the time I have to go back to work...
