Should Red Dye 40 be banned by the FDA?

After all of the research regarding Red Dye 40, ( http://www.red40.com/pages/chemistry.html
http://www.associatedcontent.com/article/131963/is_the_red_40_food_dye_additive_having.html?cat=5) and the alternitives to use instead, do you think it should be banned?

  • nope.

    the only thing with red #40 for me is that my friend is allergic to it so if I'm baking treats at Christmas, I have to make sure nothing in her gift has red #40 in it.

  • I don't think is should be banned by the government. However, I have a daughter with ADHD and I definitely cut WAY back on the red dye. That stuff is bad for ADHD and besides... it tastes gross! LOL

  • Yes, and while we're at it lets ban fun of all sort. j/k. The link didn't work for me but I don't see any use for it. I try to only buy dye free but its really hard, as far as banning it, I don't know. I know a lot of people are allergic.
