For home owners

do you get full earthquake coverage? where I live we never get earthquakes but wonder if we change the coverage that then it will happen! haha I am thinking of doing it so we don't have to pay so much per year.

  • We don't have earthquake coverage. We live in Long Island, NY and so far there was never one here. If there is one, I'm shit out of luck.

  • well depending where you live its not optional but you can save between $50-$200 per year depending what you choose either to get rid of it or make your deductible higher if it were ever to happen...

  • I think you need certain insurance for that. Just like if you get a flood you need completely different flood insurance from your house insurance. We don't get earthquakes often in Wisconsin (rarely)..so i'm not positive..
