What kind of special gift can we give a daughter on her 18th birthday?

My stepdaughter is turning 18 and doesn't want any type of party (problems with BM). We'd like to get her something special.

  • I'd go with something like a locket or other piece of jewelry.

  • Well... it depends. What kind of money are you looking to spend?

  • I got a necklace w/ my name on it (my name is not a charm, it's my name in cursive connected to a necklace) it's very nice. Actually I got it for my 15th b-day and I'm wearing it right now 11 yr's later.

  • This is a big present, but you could get her a journey necklace with her birthstone in it. or you could just go for diamonds. If you are not looking to spend that much money I like the idea of getting pictures of her growing up and making a collage out of them.

  • I got a very nice locket from my mom. I think something more 'grown up' yet something to show that she means a lot to you. I agree with the locket, or maybe something small with diamonds. Maybe the smaller sized diamond earrings, or a braclete?
    good luck!!

  • I like the diamond earrings idea....depending on how much you want to spend, maybe a trip somewhere?

  • When my oldest daughter turned 16 I bought her her first diamonds - ring, earrings & necklace. I found a really nice set at JC Penney in their clearance section. Nothing fancy, just nice & simple. She luvs them! And likes that she can wear them dressed up or with jeans. I think on her 18th (next year) I'll get her a strand of good pearls :)
