Do you keep your child home from school for a tummy ache?

I do not want my son running to the bathroom in school every hour, so I kept him home. Is that OK? I just do not want him to have an accident in school.

  • It's up to you. If it was diarrhea, I would keep him home.

  • Nobody wants to be Arthur McPoopy-Pants. I think that was a good choice!

  • IF you, as the parent, feel he is sick enough to stay home then it's okay to keep him home... Really, it's that simple. There is no rule that states when a child is sick enough to stay home. If you aren't comfortable sending him, don't.

  • If he is having the runs, then yes, that was a good call. There is a tummy bug going around as well as the cough/cold bug. I keep mine home if they are throwing up or running a fever. Never had the issue you had today, (during a school day) but wouldve kept 'em home. You did good mom. :)

  • Our school asks that they do stay home if they have diarrhea. Chances are he has a bug and keeping him home is the right thing to do!
