  • You mess it up, you clean it up
Treat others as you would want to be treated
    Respect others property
    Mind your manners
Do your chores, or no privileges
    Dating age 16
No cell phone until 16 with a part time job
    Homework comes before everything
No friends over on school nights
    Bedtime 8pm if you're under 12
    Bedtime 9:30 if you're over 12

I'm sure there are more, just can't think of them right now... I also make them up as I go, depending on the situation...

  • We work into solutions. It's very very slow. Just recently it's hit the top rung. Their is not excuse for some child that is growing into teenage years to not put their own plate into the sink and "even" rinse .... imagine that.
For starters here, if they are acting out, I usually say...."is their a reason why you are acting in that manner?" If they are explicitly saying ''no, their is not particular reason for it, sorry'', than we put forth the write down 20-30 - , 100 times to .... blah blah...., whatever.
Just for another starter is the boundary. We set it this year by keeping things that they like most, and grounding them from that thing...(toy,game,time outside, or .....(??)

  • I glad to see someone else puts their "older" kids to bed at 8pm. I get crap from people all the time because my 5 yr old son and 10 yr old son both have to be in bed at 8pm...
