  • I would use Baking soda, Borax or Vinegar. Softners only 'mask' the smell.

  • Try vinegar. They have enzyme cleaners too. (Too expensive for me) baking soda softens the water to help detergents do their job better. Good luck. I'm the carpet cleaning phase. My boys thgink its cute to peein the corner. Suck enzyme cleaners work good for carpets too! Lol

  • Maybe a little Clorox bleach? It kills germs....the germs are producing the odor. After the wash starts agitating, add a small amount, maybe 1/4 cup bleach mixed with a cup of water to the wash. Good luck.

  • Does the mattress have a "rubber sheet"? If so, wash that WITH the sheets and add some baking soda to the wash during the wash phase.
