  • I just did for my DD's fall/winter shoes. Kids shoes are so freaking expensive!!!!!!! Why?

  • I always bought shoes 1/2-1 size bigger so they could wear them all year long. However, sandles can be sketchy since the toe stick out more and the child could trip constantly. With T-shoes, you wear socks so, not as bad. Just make sure that when they walk in any pair of shoes, sandles or not, that their heel is not comming out of the shoes. If so, go down a size. But, my DD grows like a weed. However, the shoes she has now, she has been wearing over a year and they fit her perfectly. Its good to know when your child can get some good wear.

  • i would like to, but it doesn't seem like a good idea, they are very clumsy as it is, and a big shoe wouldn't help that. i would just stick to cheaper shoes

  • Talk to the salesperson. They should have a little room, but not too much or they can't walk right. My kids always wore their shoes a long time.

  • Generally, a little bigger. But by the time he's fitting out of one size, it's not like the next size is so much bigger. He wore size 6 until that was snug, then he fit into a 7. Right now a 7 still gives him plenty of wiggle room, so that's what he wears. I probably won't buy him another pair until he can fit into an 8.

  • Only about 1/2 a size. Bigger shoes are harder to walk in.

  • No, but I don't ever buy half sizes. If she needs to go up, she can go up a whole size. It helps that none of the stores locally even carry half-sizes.

I also buy a size ahead so that I can get them on sale and just wait for them to fit rather than waking up one morning and realizing she has no shoes.

  • I don't. I buy the size he needs. If you get shoes too big or too small it can causes problems. I wouldn't want to walk around with my feet sliding around in my shoes, lol.
