I am 34 and trying to decide whether I should get an Amniocentesis. I did the first phase of testing and is said that I had a 1 in 4500 chance of down syndrome. My doctor said that was a good rate (the best she has ever seen is 1 in 10,500) but its hard to make a decision. This is my first baby , this is all new to me and I'm just nervous. Any advice???????

I had a 70% chance of having a child with downs, And of course, i did the Amnio, I am only 25 and it is my child daughter, Everything went fine, with the Amnio, Nothing was wrong with the little bundle, No complications with the amino neither, But my doctor, is a professional, * specialist* in The Amniocentesis field,*
Making sure you have a great doctor, and you trust them to do this to you and your child
Since it is really invasive and let me tell you
It hurts !!!
And i wouldn't have changed my mind but i did, it for the child sake in case she did have DS, she would have the best treatment Available to her at the moment she was born, since Most children with Ds have Heart complications, I was not risking it,
