Why do the alphabet song and "Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star" have the same tune

  • cause someone could not come up with a new tune when they were writing the song...so instead of making a new one they said hey why dont we use the same tune just different words...then we can get out of work quicker...lol

  • There's actually a bunch of songs, including baa baa black sheep and some german hymns that share the popular melody.

  • There are a lot of tunes that share the same melodies and my thought as to why is because the melodies are easy for the kids to remember so why not just change up the words.
