training pants

My son is going to be potty training soon. I was planning on just using underware....I WILL NOT be using pull-ups. However, my sitter needs him to wear waterproof traing pants. Any suggestions on brands or types that have worked for you? THanks!

  • I never used anything waterproof, we just used the Gerber brand white training pants that have extra layers of material.

  • My son wears gerber cloth training pants which you can pair with a plastic cover. Some stores carry plastic pants but they are really huge. I skipped the cover and paid for it (clean up mania) lol but he's not having as many accidents lately. Best way to avoid accidents (expect them nonetheless) is to tune into the timing and cues. If for example, he generally pees/poops 15 minutes after a drink or meal, take him to the potty. if he cant keep still long, fill up a basket with his favorite books or activities! Sometimes my son sits on his potty just to read :)
