  • Finger foods! It's kind of ridiculous, actually...the "buffet" gets bigger every year because DH and I have so much fun with it. Cheese, crackers, pickles, olives, cookies, candies, veggies w/ dip, fruit slices, sparkling cider/champagne, etc. It's a tradition that came from my family when my mom finally said "enough!" to cooking a big meal after Christmas Eve church service. It also served my and DH well when we were first married and living in a motel room. LOL now we just do it because we've grown to love it!

  • We gather at the in-laws. There really isn't a meal per se. We sometimes have sandwiches, or maybe order a pizza. MIL usually has snacks, like chips, pretzels, nuts, candy, cheese, etc. etc. The big meal is for Christmas Day.

  • Usually it's finger foods, sometimes it's Thanksgiving-esque.

  • Bar-b-que chicken, pork ribs, hotdogs and steak, red rice, scalloped potatoes, potatoe salad, fruit salad, pancit, kelaguen (beef and/or shrimp), shrimp patties, all types of desserts (custard, pineapple, latiya, red velvet, pistachio, pumpkin). If that doesn't happen X-mas eve, then it happens X-mas day ;p

    Island Style!!!
